We have multiple veterinary nursing and assistant positions open to build up our ever-growing, state-of-the-art hospital. We are looking for individuals passionate about both patient and client care who wish to be part of a team atmosphere.

Preferred skills:

• Be proficient in venipuncture & IVC placement
• Utilize proper handling/restraint
• Have an understanding of animal behavior (fear-free familiarity is a plus!)
• Have a broad knowledge of small animal surgery, disease processes, and medicine
• Be comfortable with dosages and calculations
• Strong sense of customer service and client communication
• License/Certification is preferred, but not required

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of Veterinary Experience
• Ability to comfortably stand and or walk for 10+ hours
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
• Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
• Be flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and a team player

Medical

• NVA offers a choice of medical plans with a range of coverage levels and costs, so you have the flexibility to select the option that’s best for you.  Employees may choose from three options administered by United Healthcare – PPO, H.S.A., Buy-Up PPO plan.

Dental

• Comprehensive dental with a choice is offered to employees and their families, the plan provides the freedom to seek care from any dentist, but plan participants may incur a higher out-of-pocket expense if using an out-of-network Dentist.  Both dental options are administered by United Healthcare

Pharmacy

• NVA provides prescription coverage administered by United Healthcare, and coverage is automatically provided to employees enrolled in 1 of the 3 medical options because it is included in the premium.

Vision

• NVA vision covers an annual comprehensive eye exam and helps pay the costs of frames, lenses, or contacts.  This is administered by EyeMed.  EyeMed members receive enhanced benefits when members visit a PLUS Provider – a select group of providers in the EyeMed network.  Best of all, the perks are built into the vision plan, which means no promo codes or extra paperwork is required.

Flexible Spending Accounts

• Employees may enroll in the healthcare flexible spending account (HCFSA) and contribute pre-tax, then request reimbursement for qualified medical expenses not covered by other benefit plans.  With the HCFSA, your entire annual amount is available to you immediately.
• The dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA) permits reimbursement for approved childcare expenses for dependent children under age 13.  Money in these spending accounts will reduce taxable income, providing employees with more value for the dollar.

Commuter FSA

• Use the Commuter FSA to pay for eligible commuter expenses, including public transportation used for your transit to work and many parking expenses. Only your work-related commuter expenses are eligible. This is an individual benefit only, so you are unable to use this benefit for your spouse’s or dependents’ commuter expenses.

Health Savings Account

• Employees enrolled in the Health Savings Account plan (HSA) are also eligible to participate in the Health Savings Account.  You may contribute pre-tax with the ability to change contributions on a monthly basis during the year.  Employees will receive an annual employer contribution  (seed money) to help pay for eligible healthcare expenses, including your first-dollar deductible, coinsurance, prescriptions, dental and vision expenses, etc.  Investment options are available to participants with a minimum account balance and accumulate tax-free earnings.
