About us
This is an exciting opportunity to co-lead the talented and highly collaborative team at The London Cat Clinic, bringing your clinical expertise to the forefront of feline veterinary medicine to help take the practice to the next level, as we continue to grow and expand our services.
We have the tools and environment for you to be the best clinician you can be and, building on our track record of successful growth, we are looking for a Deputy Clinical Director to help shape our next chapter. With a balance of commercial, client and team leadership, well-managed caseloads, a great culture and a focus on and commitment to work-life balance, this newly-created role marks a significant milestone in our journey and a great career opportunity for you!
We have a vibrant, international and diverse team and are passionate that bringing your whole self to work will make it a great experience for you and will build a great team. As we expand our services and bring on new team members, our aspiration to be a centre of clinical excellence is well on track. We love taking responsibility, being accountable and coming to work with pride, passion and a good sense of humour.
The London Cat Clinic is very definitely independent, purpose-built and gold standard. We are about to celebrate our 5th birthday and have nearly 5000 registered patients which bring an interesting and varied caseload, being a mixture of fun first opinion work, a significant number of interesting and challenging second opinions and an increasing referral caseload. We have the only feline-specific ophthalmology in the UK and have made a successful transition to providing the only dedicated 24/7 emergency and inpatient care for cats in the UK closing the circle on the high level of care we give our patients during the day.
In the months and years ahead, the pressure will be on us to live up to our reputation and ensure a consistent and brilliant experience for cats and their carers, day or night, whether from a vet, a nurse or a front of house colleague. Critical to our success is the open, honest and transparent relationships we have as a team – we understand that we are all different and celebrate this, support each other, and bring past experiences and new ideas together in an impactful way. We respect each other and the wonderful building in which we get to practice what we are passionate about every day.
We value our team members equally and a core value is that the ‘whole is greater than the sum of its parts. We expect you to feel the same.

What can I say other than amazing. They saved my lovely Zuzu’s life. She would have 100% died or been put to sleep anywhere else. Amazing staff who really care and more importantly know their stuff. I drive from Bristol to take my kitty back to them when she got sick again because I know they will do their absolute best for my kitty – Joline F – Google Review

About this role
Given our continued growth and high aspirations, the time is right to strengthen our Senior Leadership Team with the appointment of a friendly, professional and experienced Deputy Clinical Director. The Clinical Director, Dr Jeremy Campbell, to whom the role reports and for whom you will deputise, will increasingly focus on a referral caseload, as well as clinical teaching, staff development and shaping the overall future strategy and ethos of the practice, its commercial and cultural success. The Practice Manager and the Head Nurse will continue to report to the Clinical Director alongside this role newly created role of Deputy Clinical Director.
What success looks like in this role covers four main areas but, as this is a new role, we are happy to shape its content based on your own experiences and unique perspectives.
A clinical leader and advocate for excellence in feline medicine
As a senior veterinarian, ideally, with a post-graduate qualification in feline medicine or small animal medicine (or working towards one), you will be skilled in internal medicine as you will have an interesting and varied caseload of your own to manage. Experience with ultrasound, endoscopy or cardiology and knowing your way around a cat’s abdomen would be great but aren’t essential and training will be provided. You will also be responsible for bringing a progressive view of clinical standards to support our veterinary team’s professional development, will co-lead clinical review meetings and help shape clinical protocols for our future success as a centre of clinical excellence. Experience as a Clinical Instruction Mentor would be valuable but not essential. At The London Cat Clinic, you will be encouraged to be the vet you want to be with support if you wish to further your skills and experience.
We have a wide range of equipment available for you including:
- Flexible and rigid endoscopes/otoscopes
- Mini-laparoscopy kit
- Digital X-ray / Dental X-ray
- Ultrasound with multi-frequency curvilinear, linear and phased array probes for abdominal and thoracic/cardiac imaging
An inspiring and empathetic people leader
With a growing team of skilled clinicians reporting to you, you will bring a leadership flair to motivate, inspire and encourage our vets. With day-to-day line management of our team, currently of 8 vets, we will look to you to provide clinical support and coaching, as well as broader support for their professional development and their pastoral care. Through team meetings and regular check-ins, you will drive and be actively involved in building a great team that works brilliantly together, leveraging the strengths of each team member for the greater good of the practice and our clients. You will lead the recruitment for the veterinary team as we expand both our day and night service. We will look to you to seamlessly integrate the day and night teams, ensuring great collaboration and consistently high clinical standards.
A culture ambassador for what makes TLCC unique
As part of the senior leadership team, you will be purpose-led and be an advocate for the ethos of the practice, Committed, Accountable, Trusting and Striving for excellence. You will play a critical role in shaping and advancing our unique culture at The London Cat Clinic across the vets, the nurses and the front-of-house team. We will look to you to be an ambassador to champion the traits we cherish – compassion, honesty, transparency, support and team focus. You will help shape and build the team dynamics for our continued success.
An enabler of great professional practices to support our growth
We are looking for someone who can play a lead role in shaping the development of the practice as part of the Senior Leadership Team. You will help us use technology to maximise productivity. You will develop, deploy and sustain protocols, processes, practices and standards that enhance patient care and deliver a great experience for carers. You will help us put excellent clinical care and personalised customer journeys at the heart of what we do, based on maintaining consistently high standards. You will play a key role in the continued commercial success of the practice, co-shaping out charging protocols, and ensuring charging is transparent and consistently applied. You will bring a change management mindset to help us grow the business profitably and integrate our new services and offers.

About you
A love of felines is essential and we want colleagues to join us who are passionate about what we do and will treat our patients, team members and owners with the same care and attention that you yourself would like to be treated.
You will be a self-confident clinician, able to make decisions independently and work collegiately. With previous leadership experience, we are looking for empathy and engagement in equal measure alongside the gravitas and drive to truly deputise for the Clinical Director and help co-create our future.
We take the transparency and trust we have with our clients equally seriously with our colleagues. Being open with each other about what’s working well and what needs to be done differently is fundamental to our success. So, sharing these values is really important to us. We want your voice to be heard and have regular Open Ears sessions to hear ideas and feedback, as well as getting to know each other better. We want you to play a key role in shaping this culture, listening, contributing and leading.
We have a vibrant, international and diverse team and are passionate that bringing your whole self to work will make it a great experience for your and will build a great team.
We are hardworking and take our jobs incredibly seriously – working at The London Cat Clinic is a vocation and not just a job. Being a small team in a busy and growing practice, means everyone has to muck in and help each other out. There is no room for egos, attitude or clock-watching.
But we do love taking responsibility, being accountable for our own decisions and coming to work with pride, passion and a good sense of humour.
